• Name of the site i.e. "fullformof.in"
• Type of service the resource is served by i.e. "http"
• The format of the document i.e. in this case "html"
• The location of the resource i.e. "fullformof.in/neft.html"
• The protocol used i.e. ftp., www., smtp., etc.

It works like this : when you enter a URL in you web browser to access any particular file or page, the protocol fetches that particular file from a server and responds back, that requested Web page to the client. You need to write 'http' before the address of the page.

DNS converts the domain names we type in our Web browser address bar to the IP addresses with the help of a name server.
Need of a Domain Name System
IP addresses can be difficult for people to remember. It's much easier to remember the domain name www.fullformof.in than to remember its corresponding IP address 207.1xx.1xx.48. So, a DNS server, will hold a list of all the IP addresses along with its corresponding domain names, which can be retrieved when required.
